THE GUIDELINES OF THE

JU JITSU INSTRUCTORS

ALLIANCE 

TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE ART OF JU JITSU TAUGHT IN AUSTRALIA.

The J.J.IA. will strive to preserve the art of Ju Jitsu, (past, present and future).

 The J.J.I.A. will act as an independent body and has no interest in the day to day running of established clubs and organisations, other than to maintain a platform for the advancement for reputable instructors.

 

TO SUPPORT FELLOW INSTRUCTORS AND MAINTAIN A RECOGNISED GRADING BOARD TO OVER SEE BLACK BELT GRADINGS TO THE RANK OF 3RD DAN.

The J.J.I.A. if required, can sit on a panel of instructors to view an organisations in house 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Dan gradings. The J.J.I.A. will not dictate the requirements of the said gradings as these are normally set by each club in accordance with their own grading system.

In the case where an instructor ranked at 1st or 2nd Dan and running their own club, wishes to progress beyond their current grade, the J.J.I.A, can  help to formulate grading requirements and or arrange a grading panel to view said grading. If the participant is successful in obtaining their grade the J.J.I.A. will issue a certificate of recognition for said Dan level.

 

TO RECOGNISE FELLOW INSTRUCTORS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE ART OF JU JITSU.

The J.J.I.A. will strive to recognise Ju Jitsu instructors above the rank of 4TH Dan for their contribution to the art of Ju Jitsu.

Recognition in such areas as:

·          Commitment to students

·          Development of technique

·          Promotion and contribution of the art of  Ju Jitsu

·          Years of training under taken

·          Years of teaching experience

·          Understanding of the history of Ju Jitsu 

 

TO ADVISE NEW INSTRUCTORS ON THE SET UP AND OPERATION OF THEIR OWN DOJO.

The J.J.I.A. can, if required advise instructors on the set up and operation of their new dojo. Advice can also be given on the formulation of a structured grading system.

 

TO PROMOTE A CODE OF CONDUCT THAT WILL PROTECT BOTH THE PARTICIPANTS AND THE NAME OF JU JITSU.

The J.J.I.A. expects instructors that are affiliated with the J.J.I.A will follow the Instructors Code of Conduct as set out below.

 The instructors Code of Conduct  

·                      Instructors must not dishonor the art of Ju Jitsu

·                      Instructors must not take advantage of their students.

·                      Instructors will promote the art of Ju Jitsu.

·                      Instructors will make every effort to deliver structured training.

·                      Instructors will be active in developing technique.

·                      Instructors are required to have their own insurance, public liability and indemnity cover.

·                      Instructors will respect decisions made by the J.J.I.A

 

The J.J.I.A. will terminate the affiliation of any instructor that disrespects the instructor’s code of conduct or brings dishonor to the art of Ju Jitsu.

 

* Note:  THE J.J.I.A. WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH AN INDIVIDUAL CLUBS DOJO ETIQUETTE.

 

TO SHARE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TECHNIQUES SO AS TO ENSURE THAT JU JITSU CONTINUES TO EVOLVE AND ADAPT TO THE TIMES THAT WE LIVE IN.

The J.J.I.A. supports innovation and change that is beneficial to the Art of   Ju Jitsu and therefore endorses the development and the sharing of new techniques and innovative ideas. The J.J.I.A. believes that this train of thought will further enhance the art of Ju Jitsu and preserve it for future generations. 

TO DELIVER COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTION IN THE ART OF JU JITSU IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS SUITABLE TO MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES.

The J.J.I.A. supports instructors that use structured training systems to deliver comprehensive tuition to men, women and children of all ages and ability.

The J.J.I.A. will not dictate how individual instructors are to set up their grading system or the recognition signature (coloured belt system) used to identify grading level. This will be decided by each club in its own right, but may need to be explained if the J.J.I.A. is requested to witness a grading.

The J.J.I.A. can if required give advice on the formulation of a grading system based on the individual clubs agenda.

 

TO SHARE IN INTER CLUB ACTIVITIES SUCH AS TRAINING CAMPS AND SEMINARS TO FOSTER AN ENVIRONMENT OF COMRADESHIP WITH FELLOW JU JITSUIANS. 

The J.J.I.A. endorses the interaction of individual Ju Jitsu clubs for such events as training camps and seminars. Such events foster an environment of comradeship and form strong bonds within the Ju Jitsu

Health and Safety

Each club must have in place a comprehensive OH&S strategy that details emergency procedures, safe handling of equipment, reporting procedures and deligated personel for OH&S matters. This strategy should be clearly displayed in the Dojo so that all particepants have access to it.
